Precipitation overview
Monthly rainfall, snow depth and snowfall over the latest 30 years, from NOAA GHCN rain gauges for the station source and from reanalysis for the site-specific source.
Rainfall event intensity
How intense rain gets on wet days and in wet hours at nearby NOAA stations, and in 15-minute intervals where a station records them (mainly in the United States); projects add hourly reanalysis at the site.
Long precipitation records
Projects with site-specific data add a rainfall record from 1941 to the latest complete year, built from CHELSA V2.1 daily data at about 1 km and shown as monthly and yearly totals with trends.

Frequently asked questions
Does C4B provide IDF curves or return periods?
No. C4B shows precipitation totals and event intensity, but it does not calculate intensity-duration-frequency (IDF) curves or return periods.
Where does the rainfall data come from?
NOAA GHCN daily and hourly station records near the site and, in projects with site-specific data, reanalysis at the site's grid cell and a CHELSA V2.1 record back to 1941 (built from daily data, shown as monthly and yearly totals).
Does it include snow?
Yes. The overview includes snow depth and snowfall.
